An hour before 9AM is worth two after 5PM
I may get cancelled for this?
I did something radical this week - I stopped doing dishes at night. After a full day of kid-wrangling and life-adulting, I decided those crusty plates could wait. Why? Here me out:
An hour before 9AM is worth two after 5PM
I forgot where I first heard this but I’ve never felt something more true in every aspect of my life. 20 minutes of morning dishwashing is somehow half as exhausting as evening dishwashing (it's science).
Solving the visual clutter is enough
Getting dishes to the sink by the end of the day is enough visual decluttering for one day. Bonus - this is a really easy task to pass off to the littles.
Dedicated me-time
I've reclaimed that time for actual self-care - face masks, Netflix, wine, or the holy trinity of all three. Turns out ending my day with something I enjoy rather than something I dread was the small change that saved my sanity.
What is that one thing you thought you would never do…just because?
