The Monthly Reset

Look, I used to be one of those people who'd make grand New Year's resolutions, fail by January 4th, then spend the rest of the year feeling like garbage about it. But I figured out something better: the monthly reset. It's like hitting refresh on your life without the pressure of changing everything forever.

Here's my no-BS approach that takes maybe two hours total.

First, I do a brutally honest month review—what went right, what was a dumpster fire, and why.

Then I face the music and check our finances. I pay all the bills and make sure all of our credit card perks are being used.

I update the calendar with all the birthdays and events I almost forgot and pre-order gifts so future me doesn't have to panic-shop at Target again.

I plan one new thing for the next month—nothing crazy, just something I've never tried. Last month was a writing class, this month I'm finally learning to use that pickleball paddle. If you do this every month for say, 10 years, that is 120 fun experiences you have racked up.

Last, but not least: the everything shower. You know the one.

Three Things Worth Sharing
  1. This handheld electric duster has become our most-used gadget, and the genius hack? Using it to cool down scorching hot mac and cheese before your toddler has a meltdown.
  2. These simple hand movements for brain health look easy until you try them and realize your coordination peaked in third grade.
  3. Air New Zealand's Skycouch lets you literally lie down IN ECONOMY, and honestly, I'm ready to blow the college fund on this game-changer.
A Quick Note

Don't ever forget: done is better than perfect.
