Three Back-to-School Hairstyles That Won't Make You Cry (Promise)

Let’s be real—back-to-school hair is just chaos. Some parents are up at sunrise making magical braids for first-day photos, but honestly? I’m just trying to remember which kid’s backpack isn’t stuffed with last year’s snacks. What actually matters is their hair looks basically tidy. No one's keeping score at drop-off.

Here’s what I’ve actually done in full survival mode:
• The messy bun—run your fingers through, pile it up, call it a win.
• A tight low pony—get it a little wet, add gel if you want, and pull it back. It’ll stay put even if nothing else does.
• If you’re feeling brave, try this french braid tutorial—it’s actually not rage-inducing.

Truthfully, just practice each of these once, then improvise the rest of the school year. No one’s going to remember how their hair looked after the first bell anyway. Save your sanity for things like getting out the door kind of on time.

Three Things Worth Sharing
  1. Those magnetic tiles your kids actually play with for more than five minutes? Yeah, our favorite set is on a major sale right now.
  2. Need to break the ice at your next Zoom call or family dinner? This universally fun icebreaker works every single time.
  3. Fair warning: I'm currently addicted to these homemade Takis and you will be too.
A Quick Note

Real talk: some links here might put a few cents in my coffee fund, but I only share stuff I'd actually buy myself (or already have hidden in my Amazon cart).

Sending you detangled hair and untangled thoughts,
