Hot Take: dirty dishes can stay in the sink overnight.

I did something radical this week - I stopped doing dishes at night. After a full day of kid-wrangling and life-adulting, I decided those crusty plates could wait. Why? Here me out:

An hour before 9AM is worth two after 5PM

I forgot where I first heard this but I’ve never felt something more true in every aspect of my life. 20 minutes of morning dishwashing is somehow half as exhausting as evening dishwashing.

Solving the visual clutter is enough

Getting dishes to the sink by the end of the day is enough visual decluttering for one day. Bonus: this is a really easy task to pass off to the littles.

Dedicated me-time

I've reclaimed that time for actual self-care - face masks, Netflix, wine, or the holy trinity of all three. Turns out ending my day with something I enjoy rather than something I dread was the small change that saved my sanity.

Things worth sharing

Dinner with Strangers

I just wrapped up my 6-week cohort with RealRoots and it has transformed my social life and re-taught me how to have a conversation with actual adults. The idea is that you get matched up with a group of women in your area for a series of weekly, curated outings (think dinner, mini golf, etc). I’ve tried a lot of these types of things before, and this is the most sustainable approach to building friendships that I have found.

All that glitters

With gold prices at all an all time high recently, I had to give this podcast episode a second listen - so many golden nuggets inside about the gold market, and investing.
